WHICH SAUCER FITS
Which saucer goes with which pot size?
At SK, we want to make it as easy as possible for our customers to find the matching saucer. This is why we have put a small note on the label underneath each pot with the size of the matching saucer recommended by Soendgen. This way, customers can find the right saucer for every pot size in two easy steps.
Function and design of the saucer
The saucers are developed by SK following certain criteria, which are also useful when looking for the right size. As a matter of principle, the saucer should be designed in such a way that it collects the excess water which comes out of the water drainage hole after watering the plant or from rainwater, which is why the height of the edge of the saucer and the diameter of it are key. You are advised to choose a saucer which is wider than the base of the pot and so has a high storage capacity in order to control the amount of water when pouring.
This also gives the option of watering the plant underneath the saucer. The saucer therefore is filled with water, and the plant supplies itself with water via the roots.
The overall appearance of the pot and saucer combination then looks round when the diameter of the saucer is not bigger than the diameter of the pot opening. The special thing about our SK Open-Air range is that the saucer is always coordinated to match the shape of the vessel and so creates a harmonious whole.
One special feature: in two of our series, the saucer is considered a design aspect in its own right. As an exception to this, in the “Modena“ series function follows design – the saucer is flush with the pot, which forms an optical highlight. “Turin“ has an especially high rim, and therefore a significantly higher capacity. The pot has been designed in such a way that it fits harmoniously into the overall picture.
