REPOTTING INDOOR PLANTS

When do you need to repot indoor plants?

The best guide is to take a look at the root balls. To do this, lift the plant out of its pot and check whether the soil is completely rooted.
If this looks to be the case then it’s time to repot the plant, even if the size of the vessel no longer matches the size of the plant.

As a general rule, you should provide a plant with new soil every three or four years.

The right vessel for repotting

When using a new vessel, you should make sure to leave two or three centimeters
between the root balls and the edge of the vessel.

The ceramic pots stand out with their natural material. Another advantage of the ceramic pots is
that the plants don’t get wet as quickly and the vessels are more stable.

How do I recognize good potting soil?

Potting soil needs a variety of properties. It needs to be able to store water and nutrients and repel harmful substances such as lime.

The ideal potting soil for indoor plants is low in peat or even peat-free.

What’s the best way to repot indoor plants?

First off, shake the old soil off the root balls as much as possible and loosen the root ball up a little.
Then fill the base of the new pot with fresh soil.

Now put the plant in a new biodegradable pot and fill the rest of it up with soil.

To finish off, add water and place in a decorative Soendgen Keramik cachepot.
