Data protection statement

We at Soendgen Keramik GmbH (referred to below simply as Soendgen Keramik) are pleased you are visiting our website. Protecting your personal details when processing them is something we take very seriously, as we would like you to feel secure when visiting our internet pages. We explain below what information we at Soendgen Keramik capture during your visit to our websites and how it is used.

Personal data

Personal data is defined as specific details covering the personal or factual circumstances of a specific or determinable private individual, which includes information such as your true name, your address, your telephone number and your date of birth. Items of information that are not directly related to your actual identity (personal data) – such as favourite websites or the number of users of a page and the IP [Internet Protocol] address – are not personal data.

Investigating and processing personal data

When you visit our websites, our web server routinely saves personal data and – temporarily, for the purpose of system security – the connection data of the computer calling (IP address), the websites that you visit through us, the date and duration of the visit, the identification data of the browser and type of operating system used and the website from which you are visiting us. This data is also exploited for statistical purposes. Such statistical exploitation does not contain any personal data. No retracing of individual users takes place. Personal details going over and above this data, such as your name, address, telephone number or E-Mail address are not captured unless you voluntarily give them out, i.e. in the context of making a registration, taking part in a questionnaire or competition, or requesting information.

We constantly seek to improve our services and therefore have recourse to the "Google Analytics" analysis tool.

“Google Analytics” data protection

“This website uses Google Analytics, a web analysis service of Google Inc. (“Google”). Google Analytics uses “cookies”, text files that are stored on your computer and which facilitate analysis of your use of the website. The items of information created by the cookie covering your use of this website are normally transferred to a Google server in USA and stored there. In the event of the IP anonymisation on this website being activated, your IP address would, however, be shortened by Google within the EU member states or in other EEC countries. Only in exceptional cases is the full IP address transferred to a Google server in USA and shortened there. On behalf of the operator of this website Google will use such items of information to evaluate your use of the website, to put together reports covering the website activities, and to bring about further services associated with the website use and Internet use vis-à-vis the website operator. Google does not merge the IP address transferred from your browser in the course of the Google Analytics process with other data. You may prevent the cookies being stored by activating a corresponding stoppage in your browser software; we point out, though, that in that case you may possibly not be able to use all the functions of this website comprehensively. You may, furthermore, prevent the capture of and processing by Google of the data (including your IP address) created by the cookie and relating to your use of the website by downloading and installing the browser plug-in available on the following link:”

Use and passing on of personal data

We apply the personal data you have made available to fulfil your wishes and requirements, i.e. normally to process the contract entered into with you, to answer your enquiry or in the course of your participation in a competition. Only if you have previously granted us your approval – and provided statutory provisions allow for this to happen – and only if you have not lodged any objection do we use such data for product-related questionnaires and marketing purposes. No passing on, sale of or other transmission of your personal data to third parties takes place unless that is necessary for the purposes of processing the contract or you have expressly approved that. For instance, in the case of orders for products, it may be necessary for us to pass the details of your order and your address on to our suppliers. If the transmission of personal data to an external service provider is necessary for a performance to be provided or for an enquiry to be answered, then we guarantee that technical and organisational measures are in place to ensure that the statutory provisions on data protection are complied with. Moreover, Soendgen Keramik imposes on its external service providers the obligation to comply with the relevant statutory provisions on data protection, to treat personal data confidentially and to delete it as soon as it is no longer required.

Children’s personal data

We prefer not to raise, process or use any personal data relating to persons below the age of 18, as the protection of children’s privacy is of great importance. In the event that, in your capacity as a parent or guardian, you learn that any of your children have transmitted personal data to us, you may get in touch with us via the addresses given in the site notice if you wish the data to be deleted.

Use of cookies

This website uses cookies to create “attendances”. The data is then stored on the server and deleted after 24 hours, if not earlier. Google Analytics also places cookies. Further details on this are given above in the Google Analytics section. The blocking or disabling of cookies may, in certain circumstances, impair the functionality of this website. Should we, exceptionally, have to store personal data in a cookie then we must obtain your explicit permission in advance. We draw your attention, furthermore, to the fact that browsers normally dispose of functions to manage cookies.

Soendgen Keramik takes all the technical and organisational security measures that are necessary to protect your personal data from loss and misuse. Your data is accordingly stored in a safe operating environment inaccessible to the general public. Should you wish to make contact with Soendgen Keramik by E-Mail, we point out that confidentiality of the information transmitted is not guaranteed. Third parties may inspect the content of E-Mails. We therefore recommend that you send us confidential information exclusively through the post.

Change to this statement on data protection

For statutory and/or organisational reasons, changes or adjustments to our data protection statement become necessary. In this respect please ensure that you are reading it in its current version.

Right to be informed

If you put a written request to us, we will tell you what items of personal data we have stored (such as your name, address).
